How to Create a Job and Build an Estimate in GreaseGoose

May 29, 2026 · 2 min read

Jobs and estimates are the heart of GreaseGoose. This guide covers creating a job and building an estimate you can send for approval.

Create the job

  1. Click Create New Job in the sidebar.
  2. Select an existing customer, or add a new one.
  3. Enter the VIN to auto-decode the vehicle, or enter the year, make, and model manually.
  4. Add the service description and save.

Build the estimate

  1. Click on the job to open it.
  2. Click Create Estimate to start.
  3. Click Add Line Item to add labor and parts. Add as many lines as the job needs.
  4. Review the totals, which calculate automatically.

Send it for approval

When the estimate is ready, click Send for Approval. The customer receives a link to review and approve it from their phone, by text or email. You will see the status update when they respond.

If the customer approves in person or over the phone, you can also click Approve manually on your end.

After approval

Once approved, click Convert to Invoice to turn the estimate into an invoice. From there the customer can pay online, or you can record an in-shop payment with Mark as Paid.
