Getting Started with GreaseGoose: Your First Day

Welcome to GreaseGoose. This guide gets you from sign-up to running your first real job in about 20 minutes. You do not need to set up everything at once. Start here, and add the rest as you go.

Step 1: Create your first job

Click Create New Job in the sidebar. Then:

1. Select an existing customer or add a new one.
2. Enter the VIN to auto-decode the vehicle, or enter the year, make, and model manually.
3. Add a description of the work, and save.

That is a complete job. You can build an estimate on it next.

Step 2: Import your data (optional, but recommended)

If you are coming from another system or from spreadsheets, bring your data in. You can import from each page:

• Customers: Customers page, then Actions, then Import from CSV.
• Crew: Crew page, then Actions, then Import from CSV.
• Parts: Parts page, then Actions, then Import from CSV.

Tip: download the template from the Actions menu first, fill in your data, then upload.

Step 3: Connect payments

To accept online payments, go to Settings, then Connections, and click Connect to Stripe. Once connected, customers can pay invoices online and funds go to your bank account.

Step 4: Run a real car through it

The fastest way to learn GreaseGoose is to use it on a live job: create the job, build and send the estimate, get it approved, convert it to an invoice, and take payment. By the end you will have seen the whole workflow.

Open the Goose Advisor AI assistant from the sidebar and ask things like "How do I create a quote?" or "Where do I add a technician?" You can also reach the team from the Contact link on the website.

How do I get started with GreaseGoose?

Click Create New Job in the sidebar to make your first job, optionally import your customers and vehicles from CSV, connect Stripe under Settings then Connections to accept payments, then run a real car through the full workflow. The free trial lets you do this with no credit card.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. GreaseGoose offers a 14 day free trial with no credit card required. You can explore job management, VIN decoding, and estimates, and add up to 5 technicians during the trial.

How long does setup take?

Most shops are up and running the same day. Creating your first job takes a few minutes, and importing existing customers and vehicles from CSV is quick. There is no lengthy onboarding required.
