Getting Started with GreaseGoose: Your First Day

Welcome to GreaseGoose. This guide gets you from sign-up to sending your first estimate. You do not need to set up everything at once. Start here, and add the rest as you go.

Step 1: Run the money loop once

After your shop is created, Home asks you to send one estimate. That is the whole first loop: job, then estimate, then send.

You can:

1. Run a sample job. GreaseGoose preloads a demo customer, a 2018 Honda Civic, and an oil-change estimate. Open it and tap Send for Approval. You do not need to build templates first.
2. Use your real car. Add a real customer and vehicle, then build the estimate yourself.

Until that first estimate is sent, Home keeps the next step in front of you. It will not look like an empty shop, and it will not fill with $0 totals. Live counts show up after real work moves.

Step 2: Import your data (optional, but recommended)

If you are coming from another system or from spreadsheets, bring your data in. You can import from each page:

• Customers: Customers page, then Actions, then Import from CSV. Or use the import wizard in Settings, then Data Management.
• Crew: Crew page, then Actions, then Import from CSV. Technicians can also be imported from Settings, then Data Management.
• Parts: Parts page, then Actions, then Import from CSV.

Tip: download the template from the Actions menu first, fill in your data, then upload.

Step 3: Connect payments

To accept online payments, go to Payments → Settings, and connect Stripe. Once connected, customers can pay invoices online and funds go to your bank account.

Step 4: Run a real car through it

The fastest way to learn GreaseGoose is to use it on a live job: create the job, build and send the estimate, get it approved, convert it to an invoice, and take payment. By the end you will have seen the whole workflow.

How do I get started with GreaseGoose?

From Home, choose Run a sample job to send a preloaded estimate, or Use your real car to add your own customer and vehicle. Optionally import customers and vehicles from CSV, then connect Stripe under Payments → Settings to accept payments. The free trial lets you do this with no credit card.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. GreaseGoose offers a 14 day free trial with no credit card required. You can explore job management, VIN decoding, and estimates, and add up to 5 technicians during the trial.

How long does setup take?

Most shops are up and running the same day. Creating your first job takes a few minutes, and importing existing customers and vehicles from CSV is quick. There is no lengthy onboarding required.
